Sunset Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony setup will be on the sunset beach, in-front of the hotel (if the weather permits). You could be dressed in traditional or western attire at the hotel and you can visit to the beach front. As you reach, you will see the place decorated with rose petals and flowers, or any other way you desire. It is topped off by having a local gazi (judge) preside over the ceremony, all of which is done in the local Divehi dialect. There will be Maldivian girls as bridesmaids in traditional clothing for your ceremony. Throughout the vows, we will be playing soft music or traditional Bodu Beru (drums) and at the moment of exchanging rings, we will be throwing flowers as well. When the vows have been made, you can then move on to the small cake and the bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling wine. The professional photographer will be capturing your moments throughout the ceremony and afterwards, it is up to both of you on whether you’d like to spend some extra time by the beach for an extended photo-shoot.  if you have something in mind, please don’t hesitate to ask and we’ll do our best to see if it can be done.

The Legalities
Wedding in the Maldives between two foreign nationals is not legally binding. Even though the day is very much real, complete with a ceremony and the perfect wedding dress, we can assist in celebrating (the renewal of) wedding vows. We are flexible and can arrange your special moment as per your wishes.
